Level 2 EV charger installs are the fastest-growing category of residential electrical work in Ontario and we install them at a steady pace across both Muskoka and the Golden Horseshoe. The install itself is relatively straightforward when the panel has capacity and the run is short - a typical Burlington or Waterdown new-build install takes half a day and is on the ESA inspection schedule the same week. Where the conversation gets more involved is when the homeowner is adding a charger to a 100A panel that is already near limit, or installing at a cottage where the run from the panel to the parking pad is 40 metres, or asking about a 14-50 outlet versus a hardwired install (the answer almost always being: hardwire it, particularly outdoors). On the charger selection question, the brands we install most frequently are Tesla Wall Connector (and the newer Universal Wall Connector with the NACS-to-J1772 adapter built in), ChargePoint Home Flex (the most flexible amperage selector), FLO Home X5 (Canadian, the build quality is excellent, made in Quebec), Enphase IQ EV Charger 2 (good fit for homes already on Enphase solar), Wallbox Pulsar Plus (compact, good for tight garages), Grizzl-E (Canadian, no-frills, very reliable), and JuiceBox (good app, energy logging). Tesla Wall Connector is the best choice if you only have Teslas; Universal Wall Connector is the better long-term choice if you might own a non-Tesla EV ever. For 2025 and newer Hyundai, Ford, GM, and Honda EVs that ship with a NACS adapter, the Tesla Universal Wall Connector with its integrated J1772 connector is the cleanest answer; a Tesla Gen 3 Wall Connector also works if you do not mind connecting the adapter every charge. Beyond that the choice usually comes down to amperage range (a 48A charger plus 200A service is the sweet spot if you are buying once), Wi-Fi and app preferences, and aesthetics. We will tell you what fits your situation before you buy.

For commercial EV charging we install single-unit and small-multi-unit Level 2 stations - condo and apartment parking, small business parking lots, restaurant and retail destination charging. The conversations are different from residential: load management across multiple stations, networked charging for billing or access control (ChargePoint, FLO, Enphase, AmpUp), and the service-size implications of running six or eight chargers off a single panel. We do the load calculations, the design, the install, the ESA permit, and the final commissioning. Rebate programs (federal, provincial, and utility-level) come and go on a yearly cadence - we track what is currently available and tell you what you qualify for at quote time, but we do not bake assumed rebates into our pricing because the programs change.
